About DGPP 

Our story

DGPP (Data Governance, Privacy and Protection) was founded in Dubai in 2023 to offer something surprisingly hard to find: advice that is expert, independent and ready to put into practice.

Our founder spent years leading governance and privacy programmes from the inside, in banks, government entities and fast-growing technology businesses. That experience shapes everything we do. We know what regulators expect, what boards need to hear and what operational teams can realistically deliver.

How we work

DGPP is a founder-led boutique. Every engagement is led personally by our founder, supported where needed by a trusted network of specialists in cyber security, law and technology. You get senior attention from start to finish, with the flexibility to scale when the work demands it.

Meet the founder

Don is a data governance, privacy and AI governance specialist with over 18 years of experience across the GCC, Europe and beyond.

He has held multiple Data Protection Officer appointments for GCC-regulated organisations and has also served as DPO in the EU, US and Asia, alongside SVP and Director roles in fintech, government, real estate technology, insurance and banking. He works across the UAE PDPL, DIFC and ADGM data protection regimes, Saudi PDPL and NDMO standards, as well as GDPR, CCPA, China’s PIPL and Singapore’s PDPA. On AI, he advises using the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001.

Don works regularly with regulators and speaks at industry conferences on data privacy, governance and AI.

Before founding DGPP, he contributed to major Abu Dhabi government projects, including Ferrari World, SeaWorld Yas Island, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World, and worked with leading platforms such as Dubizzle and Bayut.
